Human Rights in Business

We are committed to protecting people’s rights who may be affected by a financial project or activity. Therefore, we have an Environmental and Social Risk Assessment due diligence process that incorporates human rights criteria to identify, prevent, and mitigate the environmental and social risks of the projects and activities we finance for our clients and investors. We applied this process to 112 operations in 2021, one of which was conceptualized with Conditional Favorability due to potential human rights violations, particularly regarding the community’s rights.

In mitigating these risks, we implemented conditions within the contractual clauses to safeguard and protect the human rights of the operations we finance. See the Environmental and Social Risk Analysis 2021 report.

We also promote strategic collaboration schemes in our clients to improve their environmental, social, and ethical performance, supporting the incorporation of human rights due diligence in their activities and projects to implement them more responsibly and sustainably.

We continue to develop the PRI Responsible Investment Policy, which includes sustainability and human rights requirements in every investment the organization conducts. See attached the Responsible Investment Policy.
