Federico holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, a master's degree in Applied Economics and Business Administration from the cooperative program between Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and Texas A&M University, and a specialization in Risk and Finance from Universidad Francisco Marroquín. He is also a Ph.D. candidate in Business Administration from the Swiss Management Center.

He has more than 15 years of experience in the banking sector. He has been working with Banco Agromercantil since 2006, serving as head of the Risk Department, Regional Manager of Agencies, and Director of Personal Banking.

He is a member of the board of directors of Aseguradora Agromercantil, Transacciones y Transferencias "5B" and Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, where he was also a professor in the master’s degree in Project Management and Advanced Finance.

He has been the Chief and Executive Director of BAM since December 19, 2018.
